LEARN MAGIC EASILY: Levitating small items

learn magic easily

This example of a unique but visually astounding trick shows how you can learn magic EASILY! Students will stare in disbelief, and you can lead into a chemistry class, or other science project.

EFFECT:

You borrow some small stuff from an audience member, then appear to float it in mid-air!

PREPARE:

Earlier, you saturated a thread in potent saltwater (at least 50% salt). Then you stretched it out straight and dried it completely.

PERFORM:

Ask an audience member or student for a small item he may have on him.  Then tie the thread around it and hang it up for all to see. When the item is perfectly still, light the string with a match and watch it burn away with the item still suspended on the salt crystals left behind!  Be safe and hold the lit string far away from you and wear safety gloves.
